    40s&w load data

Does anyone happen to have any load data for 40s&w using autocomp and 180gr lead bullets? Debating picking up a box of them in the near future and I already have the powder.

    135 grain jacketed bullet......8.0-8.8 grains....1.125"
    155 grain XTP.....................7.0-7.8 grains....1.125"
    165 grain jacketed..............6.5-7.1 grains....1.125"
    180 grain XTP.....................5.8-6.3 grains....1.125"
    200 grain XTP.....................4.8-5.2 grains....1.125

All from Lee Modern Reloading second edition. Don't see any for lead 180 grain. Only 180 grain load from Hodgdon (Who owns Winchester powder) with Autocomp is a jacketed load.

Yeah, I have the lee manual on my bench... I've loaded 180gr plated effectively with autocomp, and most plated bullet manufacturers recommend using lead data, so I should be alright with that... Right?

I'm not real sure. Autocomp is a ball powder kind of specially formulated for race guns, with a high gas volume, but pretty fast burning, Does anybody use lead in a race gun?

I hope it'll work, because I just picked up 500 lead 180gr SWC for $40 and autocomp is the only pistol powder I have. I'll try 50 or so and see how it goes before going mass production.

Do yourself one favor. If you ever see a jug of Unique, get it. It is good for almost all my non magnum pistols, and even good for a couple of those.

I saw some yesterday, I'll get it next time I see it. Not sure why, but I've never used Alliant powders, always seem to stick to hodgdon/IMR/winchester powders.

Somewhat on the same subject, has anyone had any experience running hard cast lead through an FNX-40? I have a friend that just picked one up and is interested in having me load him up some ammo.

I've run lead through my Px4sc with no issues, but I know some pistols are not lead friendly.
