I’m planning on loading 38spl/357mag for the new derringer, and I was thinking about carrying 38spl +P instead of full power magnums. When loading +P, can I use brass that’s not marked +p?

Check out the thread below. It seems that no one could find a consistent significant difference in weight between regular and +P .38 Special brass. It would stand to reason that if +P .38 Special brass was more robust in construction (or regular .38 Special less robust), then this would show up when weighing samples of each, since dimensionally they are the same.

I think the +P markings were just put on so you wouldn't stick them in a non +p gun. I don't think there was any real difference in the brass.
