I was priming some Hornady .300 Blackout cases when I noticed some cases just wouldn't accept a primer. I forced one in, but it was ruined in the process. I noticed that all the brass marked as ".300 BLK" was this way, but not the brass marked ".300 Whisper." I ran the stubborn cases through the swager and now, no trouble seating primers. I was surprised; I didn't expect commercial brass to have crimped primers. Anyone else encounter this with this or another caliber or brand of cases?

You and others should be aware that 300 BLK are derived from 223Rem/5.56 NATO
As such, all current manufacturers are making military versions of 5.56, and the processing machinery has a station where the military crimp is done. They are so busy that even while running production runs of 300 BLK, they do NOT REMOVE the tooling in that station, and run virtually everything with a MIL CRIMP.
You should always treat 223 Rem, 5.56 NATO, and 300 BLK as if they have mil crimps, and run your own process to remove them.....
Again, this is common through all manufacturers.

I'm in the process of converting some LC 5.56 brass right now
Who makes Hornady's brass, or do they manufacture it themselves?

That was an interesting, short video. Looks like they make there own brass, too.
This is the first time I have worked with any .223/5.56 beyond just depriming & cleaning.
