Saw 1916 Spanish Mausers at SAMCO for what seems a ridiculously low price. Ordered one. Now I need to get all the reloading stuff because I had no .308 rifles.

Those C&R licenses make it a lot easier to grow your rifle collection.

Think I've used that C&R 33 times so far and saved $811 in transfer fees. And that doesn't include the dealer discounts from Graf and Sons, Midway, and Numrich give me for supplies and parts.

My first thought was how do you add 33 guns to a colection before you get a 308, but I guess 50 years old is a bit much for most 308s. I should also point out that somehow, I don't have a 308 (yet).

My second bolt action was a 308, woulda been my first but I couldn't find what I was looking for at the time...

By concentrating mostly on old milsurps. .308s are relatively new. I mean I have 2 M1 Garand 30.06's. The Spanish was converted to .308, it wasn't one originally.

A new Boyd's stock only runs 69.00. I say that makes for a pretty inexpensive sporter. Thanks for the heads up. Got mine on the way. 308 is my favorite round in bolt guns.(after my shoulder surgery a couple of years ago)

Every time I get caught back up on my cash flow, I seem to find another deal on a gun!

Good problem to have, though.

Funny how that works. Going to Wanenmacher's Gun Show in Tulsa this weekend. 39 acres and 4200 tables of gunshow. Worth driving 6 hours for? Yeah, I think so. Looking for dies, powder, primers, and if I find one a hard chrome AC Amigo.

Yeah, bad thing is there's a gun show this weekend, too. And I just blew 400 bucks more on a 15" barrel and shroud for my Dan Wesson 15-2 .357 mag pistol pack.

But oh so cool. so far I have the 4 original 2.5", 4", 6", and 8" barrel assembles, an extra 8" shroud with a scope rail and 2X7 pistol scope, and now the 15" barrel assembly, which I can ALSO put the scope on.

We had to can our plans for Wanemacher this time around. We haven't been since last Nov. Worth spending a few days on. The good news is my wife tells me the we have to go in the spring. She misses Tulsa.

You got pretty good gun shows down there? By pretty good I mean a lot of old military rifles and reloading supplies.

I don't know about good, but we regularly get two big ones. They have ones at the Greater Gulf Fairgrounds and the Abba Shrine Temple several times a year. Every 3-4 months.

I scored 6 cans of this at the gun show. Supposedly stinks to high heaven, but absolutely the best stuff to clean your guns if you shoot old milsurp with corrosive primers. With 14 Mosin Nagants, and 4 Mauser 8mm's, I sure do shoot that stuff. (Don't know if my Swiss milsurp ammo is corrosive or not)

Reloads for accuracy, but milsurp for cheap plinking!
