I actually prefer nickel plated brass to brass brass. Number one it's just so shiney, and easy to pick out from other brass at the range, I lose less of it. Second, they don't tarnish anywhere near as fast in the hot humid weather we get here on the Southern Gulf Coast. I have never noticed they don't last as many reloads than brass brass that others claim. My dies seem to handle them quite well. What's not to like?
Trade me any Nickel plated you get for the same amount of brass if I have that caliber!

Gandog, I too prefer nickel cases. I load all my HP bullets in nickel and all my target stuff in brass with the pistol cal. The rifle I will go out of my way to trade for nickel cases. Basically for the same reason, the nickel rifle cases are always loaded with my "Special" loads and brass are my target and practice rounds. I have several hundred nickel cases in 40 cal and some in 38 if your interested. I can take a look at what I would need for them as far as trade, right now I am brass rich and projectile poor

Hmm, just got a shipment of 500 .40 cal 185 grain Precision Bullets FRN moly coated projectiles. Also have them in 125 grain and 115 grain in 9mm...interested?

I haven't run across much nickle-plated brass. Probably 98% of my brass is, well...brass. I do have some .40 S&W nickle plated brass, but I don't even reload for that caliber, yet. However, I won't have any misgivings reloading the nickle plated stuff when the time comes.

I just traded 300 of mine, but I have an order in for 500 more.
Which is good, since Midway has shipped me 500 new nickel plated 10mm cases. Supposed to arrive tomorrow.
And I just got an email the 500 projectiles more has been shipped.

I love nickel plated brass (although not wild about SPEER anything whether it's brass or nickle). I usually have no problems out of nickel plated but recently I received some "once fired" FC headstamp 7mm Weatherby that peeled off about 1/2" of the nickel right above the band when I resized them. I'm not sure why unless the chamber they were shot out of was really oversize (I definitely had enough case lube on them).

I've had very few nickel plated rifle cases. Have some in .270. Had some in .223, but somebody wanted them SO bad I gave in and traded them away.

Thanks for that, by the way ;)

What did you end up doing with them? What recipe/bullets you use?

Most people are weird, but I don't think anybody is weird like you gandog. If liking nickel brass makes people weird, then count me in. Most cals, I don't have enough to mess with, but some, I could swim in it.

Nothing yet due to the scarcity of components in my area, but they are going to be loaded subsonic as soon as I find a good subsonic recipe for 69gr SMKs... Any suggestions?

Nope, I load Uberwarpspeed for my .223. 50 and 55 grain.

Bummer, I just ordered 500 69SMKs... Most will be full power (2950-3000fps), but I'd like to try some subs with it... My 8" twist AR should still stabilize then at 1000fps (I hope)

Oh boy. My shipments of the 500 10mm Nickel plated Starline cases and my 500 .40 cal 185 grain Precision Bullets projectiles are both in!
To the bat reloading cave, Robin!
