Up for grabs are some holsters and belts that I have no use for any more.

    Holsters

There are two different sets of holsters. Both sets of holsters will fit any single action revolver (and possibly some double actions). The dark brown holsters are for up to 5 1/2" revolvers. The lighter colored holsters will fit 7 1/2" revolvers. Both sets of holsters are open-ended so will take longer barrel guns.

The light colored belt is made for the longer holsters. Both holsters and belt are heavy leather with "rough-out" style construction. The holsters are well formed and of heavy construction as is the belt. The light colored belt and holsters will include the shotgun slide that holds 4 rounds of 12 guage rounds. The cartridge loops as pictured have 45 colt brass in them, as such they will only hold 10 rounds. They show how I used them for cowboy action shooting, two groups of five rounds. They are made for 38 special sized rounds and if used for that will hold 12 rounds. I'm sure that someone who knows what they are doing could modify this to their needs. The belt measures 2 1/2" wide and 41" to 47" as measured from the center of the belt buckle to the first and last holes for adjustment. This is a good (not top notch) belt, heavy and durable should provide years of use. All in all a good tough belt just not the fanciest finish. No damage to it whatsoever, but it has been worn.

The other belt I have is 2 1/8" wide and using the same measurements is 36" to 42" adjustment range. It is a higher quality belt, double leather construction, smooth on the inside and burnished edges. It is stamped in a basket weave pattern and pretty nice looking. This belt would make an excellent hunting rig that might fit in the loops on your jeans. Again, no damage, hardly worn.

If someone had experience with leather I'm sure they could dye the light colored holsters and belt to match the darker one.

I'm gonna have to keep the light colored holsters and belt with the shotgun slide together. I let the smaller tooled belt go by itself as well as the pair of dark colored holsters. If you want it all just holler.

As the title states everything is for trade. I am looking for almost any type of pistol brass, my preferences in this order 45 Colt, 44 Mag/Special, 357 Mag/Special.

I apologize for the poor quality picture but if you would like some more email me dddddmorgan@gmail.com and I will send you some on your phone. It's free for me to send a pic message but it costs me money to send my computer a pic. So feel free to ask for more.

    Thanks

Do you have any idea the brand name is on the dark holsters?
Are the bullet loops sewen in or are there slots cut with loopspushed through?
    Thanks Arthur
  1.
No brand on the holsters or belt that I see.

The bullet loops are not sewn in they are the old style of one continuous piece of leather snaking in and out of the belt. That's what I should have said when I made the comment that someone could adjust this to suit their needs.

Thinking about it I believe the dark holsters are from a professional manufacturer in Wyoming, they are much higher quality. The light colored belt and matching holsters I bought off a fellow SASS club member so I'm thinking they made em.

Well my jean size is 36 waist but that is just a tad loose so Im guessing the 36-42 belt would work or could be made to.Just one of the dark brown holsters would be enough as I never wear more then one gun.The only sa's I have are 5.5 inch so Id only need a short holster. Are you interested in any cast bullets?I have a nice 250g swc kt in 45 and several 44 and 357 in various weights.I also cast a real nice bullet for a 30-30.170g gc.I have some 45 lc brass I just traded for that looks 1x.And of course theres 44 mag 41 mag and 357 brass...Robin
  2.
    Robin,

I can box up the small belt and the brown left side holster. Should fit in a medium box. Sounds like the belt should fit no problem. It's a little stiff since it's double leather and never really used, a little saddle soap will fix that in short order. You put whatever brass you want and the 30 gas check bullets in a box and I'll holler when I ship and when you get it and you're happy send away what you want.

This would mean that the right hand brown holster is stilla vailable as well as the longer holsters (both) and the larger belt.

    reverenddan,

would a ruger super blackhawk fit in one of the long holsters?
if so what would you take in trade? I have some 38 spl cases as well as a small amount of 357 & 44 mag.
    Bruce
  3.
    Bruce,

Yes. The Blackhawk and the Super Blackhawk are the same size externally aren't they? I used two Blackhawks with the long holsters. If you can verify that the external dimensions aren't too different then since they are leather they will work fine with a simple wet mold, otherwise they are already in shape for a Blackhawk.

An yes, I'd take trade on the pistol brass.
  4.
Smaller belt and the left side holster is spoken for, pending trade.

Both larger holsters and right hand small dark holster as well as larger belt with shotgun slide is still available.

Ok Ill see what I can come up with. The only rifle molds I have are the 31141 and a single cavity for 32 special at 150g.I am looking around for a good mold for my 45-70s.I have a marlin 1895 and a EMF Sharps,Ive been thinking when I get some cash Ill look into getting an RCBS 45-405 fn and a box of 45 gas checks for rifle. What do you have for a 45-70 and what have you found to be best in it?...Robin
  5.
Robin, I have a couple of 405 grain molds. I'll send you my extra Lee one, they're fine just keep em hot. I have a Lyman 405 grain that is plain base and an RCBS 500 grain that is gas checked. The 500 is a hoot. If you load it slow you can hear it coming! And let me tell you, a hard cast 500 grain pill will go through an awful lot even at lower velocities. I have a 535 grain postell style mold that works well in most single shot rifles but it ain't a hunter for sure. Tried it once on an antelope. Hit the antelope twice then my partner walloped it with a 243 so it would go down. Seems the semi pointy bullet just poked holes in the rascal!
  6.
And in response to a question I need to add that the light colored holsters are a little different. They are truly made for Cowboy Action Shooting and the left holster is a reverse style that sits at about a 15 degree cant forward. So no it is not a "true" left handed holster.

    OOOPS!!!

Hey Dan, Just went in to get things out and that can I thought was FULL of primed .357's is less than 1/2 full.

BUT: I have way more than enough not primed to fill it up of
    either .38's or .357's.

You tell me which you prefer, but, some over half gallon will NOT be primed.
    I'll keep them seperated.

I'll hold up shipping on this end until I hear back.
    Sorry.
Hope it don't make much difference to you.

Question: will you be reloading these cases, or making bullets out of them?????

    Thank you,
    George
  8.
No bullets made out of this brass. Don't have that capability yet and even if I did I shoot the stuff.

Let's say 38 special brass for the un-primed please.

    Thanks

system was mined and spammed again.Been blocked out all day.
Just tried something else and got in. Asked 16cals & btrader to send you
a note to contact me. So IF you get them, you'll know what's up.

Got the box today. Great!! Been looking for 1/2 or whole bull hide that
thickness for months. Even the leather shop don't have it.

    Who made this set up?
Sure is heavy duty and I like 'em. Nice job whoever did it.
No names, figure someone handy made 'em himself.

Belt fits me just right too. but, the Left holster sure tips out front a long
way don't it? Put it on and guns in 'em and need to change the loop location
    on the L side. NBD.

Just realized I've got about a dozen holsters now but, these are my first cowboy
    QD's.

Thank you sir, hope you're as happy as I am on this trade.

    George
  13.
    George,

Glad you like the holsters and belt. Yes they are as heavy leather as I have ever come across.

They were made by a club member when I was shooting with a CASS club in Boise Idaho.

This is pushing 15 years so I'm afraid I don't remember who I go them from.

Yes, the cowboy emphasis would be on having the guns at the ready and easily grabbed, so if you aren't doing cowboy competition you would probably want to move the one holster.

I have a number of blackhawks so I'll keep it as a double rig
to carry a .22 along with a big bore of one cal or another.
Most likely .45 colt w/heavies. That way I don't have to blow a
nice head apart to finish something up.

Been thinking of doing the cowboy thing a few yrs already.
This just about fills out my gear other than clothing & doubt
I'd dress for it anyway other than hat & have one of those seldom worn.

Did you get the brass yet?

    Thanks again,
    George
  14.
George, the brass hasn't shown up yet but it's hard to say, the truck might be broken down...

I try not to get in a rush about these things. And I'm not worried.

The cowboy shooting is as much fun as you can have in competition.

Since there is none close enough here I am going to look into Bianchi Cup.

I've watched 'em play their games a couple times.
Even painted a wheeless stagecoach one summer for $.
Cowboy games are by far the most popular shooting games at our gun club.
The one's I've been to had over 200 participants and at least that many or more watchers.

There's about 8 range's they use so it's not all taken up waiting. They divide up into groups about the same size and start at each range keeping tabs on a paper w/each name. Whenever everyone has gone thru all the various targets for score it's done and totaled up. I have no clue what the prize's might be though.

I've heard it's easy to burn 200 or more rnds a day doing it. That many shooters at the same time it sounds like a real war going on. Pistols, rifles & shotguns all at once. They fill several barrels with shotgun hulls, wads and used up targets. but, most targets are steel knockdowns. A good many of them have been rigged up with rope pull resets to make it faster.

    George
  15.
Wow! That sounds like a great club George. I would join that in a heartbeat.

    Some of the best competition.

Will make you want to get a progressive press for sure.
