We have a NEW lockdown on the spammers in place!!

Well, we figured out what their motive was, and where they were coming from.

We've put measures in place to virtually eliminate all of the potential spammers. And, so far they seem to be working. Word seems to be spreading fast that we are NOT a place to try and even get in. I'm not seeing any of the registration requests that we were seeing.

Thanks to GunLoadMaster for incorporating the suggestions to make the new anti-spammer effort work better.....

Since this is a brass trading site, US citizens (those who are legitimate members of this forum) are not allowed to transfer "materials of war", in any form whatsoever, to anyone outside of this country without special permits. So, henceforth, all foreigners who attempt to register here will be banned. People putting in non-working email addresses will be also dealt with quickly.

We're hoping to continue to make this site the best "brass TRADING site" in the country, bar none.

The changes suggested above are also being introduced at our sister site, SwapArms......... There, you can trade guns, ammo, etc...... Trades only please..... If you haven't been there, you should check it out......

What? You get tired of all those Ukraine posters with the terrible English posts that made absolutely no sense here? :)

What was their motive? What possibly could they gain by spamming here?

They didn't want to spray the place with spam, per se.

The kids in high school and college have this notion that if they create a link to something, they will get paid a nickel every time someone visits that place, as lead there by them.

So, there were coming here, and in some instances not even actuallu posting a message. Just registering as a member, and then listing a html hyperlink in the "web page" field when they registered. Then, they would log off, and send a search engine bot here to read their profile, hoping to pick up the link refernece, and make thousands of $$$$ for mad money.....

So, we have put filters in, etc, to keep that from happening... What I call spam is 1,000,000,000,000th times more than anything that you guys saw. It was clogging the system.

Ahh, cool. And thanks for keeping it clean for us.
